NAME
coadd - Tool for combining CRUSH maps and more.
SYNOPSIS
coadd
[options]
<filename>
DESCRIPTION
coadd
is a tool for combining
FITS
images produced by
crush(1)
(and also by
BoA).
In general, it should always be preferred to reduce all data together using
crush(1)
in a coherent fashion, rather than combining images afterwards. However, some data sets may be too large to fit into the available RAM in a single reduction run, making external coadding necessary at times. In such cases, the recommended approach is to reduce manageable chunks of data with
crush(1)
using the
-split
option (indicating a split dataset), and combine the images with
coadd.
The resulting composite image may be further processed with
imagetool(1)
to apply the desired smoothing, filtering, clipping etc.
