NAME
show - Display & Manipulation Utility for CRUSH maps and more.
SYNOPSIS
show
[options]
<filename>
DESCRIPTION
show
is a tool to display the
FITS
images produced by
crush(1)
(and also by
BoA).
It accepts all options of
imagetool(1)
for processing images before displaying them. Once the display is active,
show
provides an interactive interface with hotkeys (see below) and mouse gestures
that enable further image manipulation and mask creation/operations.
OPTIONS
All options of
imagetool(1)
are also used by
show.
Additionally
show
defines the following option(s):
- -help
-
Provides a basic help screen, similar to this one.
- -nofrills
-
Faster but less polished rendering. (See also hotkey
'a').
MOUSE GESTURES
You may move the image inside the display window by dragging it while holding the pressing the right mouse button (or
Ctrl + button).
You can zoom in and out using the mouse wheel, or the equivalent two-finger scroll.
Dragging with left button pressed defines a circular region of the desired size. Simple click the left mouse button where you want the center of the region, and hold it while dragging to where you want the outer edge of the circular region to reside.
You can also create standard beam-sized (radius = FWHM) regions, which capture over 98% of the flux for point sources, by clicking the left button. Larger fixed-sized apertures can be created with the help of clicking the middle
(Alt + button) or right (Ctrl + button) mouse buttons.
You can enter polygonal drawing mode by pressing
'P'.
Simply click the mouse at each vertex location (or right-click
[Ctrl + button] to undo last vertex), then finish the polygon by pressing 'P' once again.
Further manipulation of regions is possible via the hotkeys described below.
